Youth football is the first stage where great stars begin to shine, and the Donosti Cup has once again been a witness to this. In 2019, a young Kuai Jiwen, an attacking midfielder with great technical quality and vision, made his mark in the B14 category with Shanghai Campus FET. That team was composed of some of the best players from Shanghai, including forward Chenghao Ma, who currently plays for DN United in China's second division at just 18 years old.

Since his time in San Sebastián, Kuai Jiwen has grown in stature and skill. Standing at 175 cm with exceptional technique, he is now one of China's brightest football prospects. His development has led him to join Shanghai Port, the reigning champions of the Chinese Super League and one of the country's top clubs, as well as to wear the number 10 jersey for China's U20 national team.

On February 12, Kuai Jiwen opened the scoring in the opening match of the AFC U20 Asian Cup against Qatar. His team advanced to the quarterfinals, where they were eliminated by Saudi Arabia, who went on to be the tournament's finalist. His performance in the competition has reinforced his status as one of the rising stars of Asian football.

At the Donosti Cup, we proudly follow the careers of players like Kuai Jiwen, who prove that our tournament is the perfect stage for future football stars to take their first steps.
