Russia returns to the Donosti Cup with Cantera Football Academy
The Moscow-based academy will make its tournament debut with its innovative methodology
Donosti Cup 2025 will welcome Cantera Football Academy, the first Russian team to compete in the tournament since 2019. The Moscow-based academy joins the list of Russian clubs that have left their mark in San Sebastián, following in the footsteps of Spartak Novosibirsk (2008) and Iskra Football (2019).
Cantera Football Academy focuses on the development of young players aged 3 to 16, offering a comprehensive approach that combines technical, tactical, physical, and psychological training. One of the academy’s standout features is its personalized evaluation system. Twice a season, players receive a detailed report on their development, covering more than 20 technical, tactical, physical, and psychological aspects. This approach allows coaches to thoroughly monitor each player's progress and focus on their areas for improvement.
With its debut in the Donosti Cup, Cantera Football Academy aims to showcase the quality of Russian youth football in a tournament that brings together some of the world’s best young players every year.
