The 32nd edition has been presented in DV Gunea, in tribute to the 90th anniversary of El Diario Vasco. Participants included Eneko Goia, Azahara Dominguez, Goizane Álvarez, Karlos Fouz, Sergio Fernandez, Iñaki Gabarain, Daniel Solana, David Taberna, director of the newspaper, and Iñigo Olaizola, founder and director of the tournament. Nor did the player of Real Sociedad, Cecilia Marcos, participant in several editions of the tournament who highlighted the growth of women’s football and told several anecdotes of her time in the tournament.
Along with them, attended representatives of different municipalities of Gipuzkoa sponsoring and collaborating entities, and managers of sports clubs in Gipuzkoa, including Angel Oyarzun, Vice President of Real Sociedad.
Journalist Iris Moreno detailed the impressive figures of this edition: 910 teams from 28 countries with a total of 15,000 participants who will compete in 2,254 matches distributed in 75 fields. However, the commitment to inclusion, sustainability and tourism impact throughout the province were also protagonists of the event.
To address these issues, different protagonists took the stage. Telling personal experiences and anecdotes related to the tournament, everyone agreed that Donosti Cup is much more than a football tournament.
Iñigo Olaizola, director of the tournament, closed the ceremony expressing his gratitude to all participants and collaborators. He highlighted the effort and commitment of each to make this 32 edition of the Donosti Cup possible.
With record participation and a series of new features, Donosti Cup 2024 has already kicked off and aims to be an unforgettable edition.
