The Donosti Cup 2025 surpasses 100 women's teams
Eight months before the start of the 33rd edition, the tournament reaches 100 teams in record time.
With eight months to go before the start of the Donosti Cup 2025, the tournament has already registered more than 100 women's teams, a milestone that underlines the ongoing commitment to the promotion of women's soccer. This increase is part of the remarkable boom that women's soccer is experiencing globally, with a significant rise in federation licenses and the professionalization of the sport in European, American, and Asian countries.
The category with the most registered teams is the G14, with 31 confirmed teams, followed by the G12 with 27, the G16 with 26, and the G19, which will host 14 teams. Regarding the teams' origin, 40% are international, reflecting the tournament's global nature, while 60% are national.
We, the organizers of the Donosti Cup, are deeply grateful for the trust of all the clubs that have been part of this historic breakthrough. This milestone motivates us to continue working to reach the 200 women's teams by the next edition. See you in July 2025!
