It's time for the friendlies, the last rehearsals before the Donosti Cup!
With just under 48 hours to go before the tournament kicks off, the teams still have two days to finalise all the tactics and football variations, which will be very important to start the tournament with a good feeling.
As in plays or musicals, rehearsals before the official ceremony are very important. For this reason, this double day of friendlies for all the teams is expected to be very intense, as all the teams will want to put the finishing touches to their games before the start of the Donosti Cup. Even so, they are still matches with friendly fire, where none of them will want to show all their weapons and the result will be of secondary importance.
All the teams will be looking for the same objective: to finish the tournament with a good feeling. Going into the tournament with high morale can be a key factor in a tournament where, if you have a bad day, you're out. The foreign teams will have to adapt to the weather and the adverse conditions they encounter, while the local teams will play with the pressure of having to please their home crowd. Different scenarios but with a common friend, the ball. At the end of the day, this is football, a wonderful sport where, naturally, whoever is best with the ball will be the winner.
All this less than two days before the curtain opens, because if you want to give 100% during the tournament, you first have to give it in the previous friendlies, an ideal scenario for all those players to earn a place in the "eleven". That said, you always have to give your best, even if it is not an official match, because as the great Johan Cruyff said: "Football should always be a spectacle".
