The Donosti Cup introduces the “Donosti Cup Munduan” Grants
This initiative seeks to encourage social change through soccer, giving underprivileged teams the opportunity to participate in the Donosti Cup.
For over 30 years, the Donosti Cup has helped more than 50 underprivileged teams participate in the International Grassroots Football Tournament organized every summer in San Sebastian. Thanks to this support, teams from countries such as Sierra Leone, Zambia, Ethiopia, Mozambique, India, Nepal, Palestine, Ukraine, El Salvador, and Bolivia have enjoyed an unforgettable experience, sharing the field with young people of different nationalities and cultures. This work has been recognized with distinctions such as the UNICEF National Award or the Iberdrola SuperA Award.
The Donosti Cup Munduan Grants have been created to extend this support to new projects, aimed at non-profit organizations that use soccer as a tool for social transformation and improving the quality of life of young people.
Two projects will be selected each year, one for men and the other for women, and both teams will participate in the Donosti Cup with all expenses paid. A jury composed of sports and culture representatives will evaluate the candidacies and choose the winners. Grants will have an approximate annual endowment of 60,000 euros.
Applications may be submitted from October 1 to November 1. Those interested should download the rules on the tournament's website and complete a registration form, attaching an explanatory report of the project.
