Palestine will be present in the Donosti Cup 2024!
The Burj AlLuqLuq team from Jerusalem, returns to the Donosti Cup seven years later
The Donosti Cup Foundation will invite, one more year, a Palestinian team to participate in the Donosti Cup. Until this date, six Palestinian teams have already participated in the tournament (Champions Club, Al-Bustan, Not to forget Jenin Camp, Rawahel Charitable Society, Al Helal SC and Burj AlLuqLuq). Together they have made thirteen appearances at the event. This time the guest team will be Burj Al LuqLuq from Jerusalem, which represented Palestine seven years ago in The Donosti Cup.
The team belongs to the cultural association Burj Al Luqluq, which has its roots deeply rooted in the community of the Old City of Jerusalem. Founded in 1991 in response to threats and attacks on Palestinian identity, the association has become a beacon of hope for local residents, providing essential services and development programmes for more than 50,000 Palestinians.
Through its "Youth at the Top - Challenge and Hopes" programme, Burj AlLuqLuq has developed Jerusalem's sporting talent. But their work goes beyond this, offering a diverse range of programmes from education to emergency medical care, highlighting their commitment to the holistic wellbeing of the community.
In a world where sport often acts as a bridge between cultures, the Palestinian team is ready to show the fighting spirit and hope of its people.
